How to Chop and Mince Onions

Perfect Method of Mincing and Chopping Onions

Chopping and mincing onions needs using clean knives with the correct method. Chopping usually means to cut foods into smaller pieces of no particular shape or size. Mincing means to finely chop and it is used for dishes that cook very quickly.

 Peeled away the skin and cut into halves. With root end away from you, place on the cutting board and cut it lengthwise into thin slices. Depending on how fine or coarse you want it chopped and leaving the slices attached at the end.

2 Slice horizontally through the slices and careful not to cut through the root end.
3 Slice the onions crosswise to get a perfect a perfect chopped. To get a minced onions, just continue to chop until very fine.
