 Ginger Beef with Young Bamboo Shoots

INGREDIENTS

450g

1/2  can

2 tablespoons

1 teaspoon

2 tablespoons

1/2 teaspoon

2

1 clove

1/2 teaspoon

2 inches

2 teaspoons

1/4 teaspoon

 

braising steak

bamboo shoots, sliced

vegetable oil

dark soy sauce

light soy sauce

chicken stock

spring onions, chopped

garlic, crushed

corn flour

young ginger, chopped

fish sauce

pepper

 

METHOD
  • Trim any visible fat from beef and cut into strips. In a bowl add salt, pepper, garlic, corn flour and mix well with 1 teaspoon of oil. Set aside to marinate.
  • In a wok, heat oil till hot and add ginger and beef mixture, chicken stock, dark soy sauce, fish sauce and fry until brown all over. Remove beef from wok and set aside
  • In the same wok add a little oil and fry sliced bamboo shoots and spring onions. Put the beef back into wok and stir fry for about 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot with rice.
